Duration: 6-8 weeks (duration may vary based on the individual horse's progress and temperament)

Services Included:

  • Groundwork Essentials (Weeks 1-2):

    • Building trust and communication through consistent handling.

    • Introduction to the halter, lead rope, and basic leading exercises.

    • Desensitization to various stimuli (e.g., tarps, noises, touch).

    • Introduction to grooming and hoof handling.

    • Longeing basics: establishing voice commands and understanding movement on a circle.

  • Introduction to the Saddle and Bridle (Weeks 3-4):

    • Acclimation to the saddle pad, saddle, and bridle.

    • Gentle introduction to weight and pressure on their back.

    • Initial groundwork with the saddle and bridle.

    • Introduction to the bit and rein handling from the ground.

  • First Rides and Rider Acclimation (Weeks 5-8):

    • Careful and gradual introduction to a rider at the walk.

    • Focus on maintaining balance and steering at the walk.

    • Introduction to verbal cues and basic leg aids.

    • Consistent, short riding sessions to build confidence.

    • Regular progress updates and discussions with the owner.

Ideal For: Horses that are already broke to ride but need to develop more advanced skills, address specific behavioral issues, or prepare for a particular discipline.

Duration: 4-8 weeks (duration will depend on the specific goals and the horse's current skill level)

Services Included (Tailored to the horse's needs and owner's goals):

  • Assessment and Goal Setting: A thorough evaluation of the horse's current skills and discussion with the owner to establish clear training objectives (e.g., improved responsiveness, lateral movements, jumping basics, trailering manners, addressing specific resistances).

  • Focused Training Sessions: Daily sessions designed to address the agreed-upon goals, which may include:

    • Refining gaits and transitions.

    • Improving responsiveness to aids.

    • Introduction to or advancement of lateral work (e.g., leg yield, shoulder-in).

    • Basic jumping skills (if applicable).

    • Trailering practice.

    • Addressing specific behavioral challenges (e.g., refusal to load, head tossing).

  • Groundwork Integration: Incorporating groundwork exercises to reinforce under-saddle training and improve communication.
